  • Change never comes without struggle and challenges and that is definitely true for Aboriginal people and in particular the artists.

Aboriginal people have been repressed and denied access to appropriate involvement in their own growth socially, academically and economically.

Most artists were not able to represent themselves and deal with the white system and so the art centres primarily managed by white people, began to market the art plus provide materials and a place for artists to paint.

Despite this many artists have been poorly treated and taken advantage of especially by unscrupulous buyers when they do not have a credible agent or art centre to represent them. Please deal with credible agents when purchasing Australian Aboriginal Art.
